Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I thought I'd show you where my jack-o-lantern feed sack bag ended up.

I decided to hang it up on my front door instead of the usual wreath. I just tucked in some fake hydrangeas to give it a little life (ironically), and hung it up with one strap.

Hope your Halloween is fun and festive!

Halloween Mantel

I've added a few spooky touches to my existing fall mantel including my nevermore raven (made last year),

and a framed witch silhouette,

I also replaced my bookpage wreath with this doily 'spiderweb'.

It's pretty much the same as my fall mantel but with a couple of added creepy touches.

Also around the house, I added some numbers to glass bottles found thrifting, and stacked them on some old black books.

And an old metal "O" spells out a common Halloween greeting!

I think we are all ready for Halloween around here.  Now we get to have fun!  We have several Halloween parties in the next few days, including one for our neighborhood, a family one, and my kids' school parties on Monday. I hope you're having fun too!

a lovely combination {Pumpkin and turquoise}

I'm loving this turquoise and orange combination on my porch right now.

I'm thinking these red chairs need to be repainted a different color, but maybe after Christmas when the red will actually work with the look I'm going for.

A cute cinderella pumpkin has found a spot on this old blue stool.

I found this old tool box one day at the thrift store.  I didn't know what I would do with it and couldn't decide whether to buy it or not but I kept coming back to it, and in the end decided the $3 price tag was the answer--yes!

I think the patina is so charming.  I filled it with various mini pumpkins.

I love the pop of color right now on my porch, and think orange and turquoise are a lovely combination.
